Veselinka Petruseva (Vesi) is a Registered Psychologist with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from Macquarie University. She also holds a Graduate Diploma of counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology. Veselinka is also a Psychology Board-approved Supervisor.
About Veselinka
Veselinka specialises in working with children (0 to 18) and their families. She provides individual counselling to children and adolescents on various issues ranging from anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment, social skills, self-esteem, bullying issues, transitioning to school and high school, school refusal, etc. She also provides counselling and support with behaviour management to parents of children with behavioural difficulties.
Veselinka also administers psychometric, academic, and behavioural assessments, including evaluations for cognitive ability, specific learning disorders (such as dyslexia and dyscalculia), ADHD, ODD, and other emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Veselinka’s therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution Focused therapy, Narrative Therapy and Play Therapy. Veselinka’s approach is very much attachment-based and embedded in person-centred therapy. Veselinka is also trained in parenting workshops, such as Circle of Security, 123 Magic, and Engaging Adolescents, and has extensive experience in supporting parents in developing and maintaining positive relationships and attachments with their children and teens.
